About PT Contractors
P T Contractors Limited, founded in 1984, is a well-established, family run, multi-disciplinary Building and Civil Engineering company. We believe that our long-term association with many of our clients, and their repeat business with us, is testament to our success in building good, collaborative, working relationships.
We work with a variety of clients on a diverse range of projects, from some of the South’s largest Local Authorities to some of the major utility companies, Government Agencies and private sector clients. We can carry out works for a wide range of projects in both building and civil engineering – including new build, refurbishment, extension, hard landscaping, infrastructure, coastal defence, VRS barriers and water main laying. We have worked in live sub-stations, occupied schools, universities and hospitals, in ports and coastal areas and in remote countryside locations.
We have extensive experience in in a vast array of civil engineering projects. Our roots lie in Civil engineering works where we started out in groundwork projects and deep drainage when this company was formed. Since then we have expanded to incorporate many civil engineering practices into our skill set, including groundworks, surfacing, highways, drainage, substation works, rivers and coastal works and more.
At PTC we have a vast amount of experience in building works from ground up construction to refurbishments. We have completed building works for many sectors including Commercial, Education, Health, Leisure, Utilities etc.
At PTC we have a close relationship with major players in the energy sector, due to this we do a significant amount of work in utilities working on areas such as live sub-stations. We have been completing building and civil projects in the energy sector for over 20 years and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience of working in such areas.
Design & Build
We now also offer design and build projects expanding our remit to include those projects that require design elements. We have completed several design and build projects over the past couple of years and are looking to expand further into this field in the coming years.
At PTC we offer maintenance contracts and have had previous experience in maintaining external areas for councils across the south of the UK.
What We Are Working Towards
In the run up to the release of the new ISO 45001 that is to replace the OHSAS 18001 in 2018, we are working towards implementing an Operational Health and Safety Management system that is compliant with the new standards. We are currently working to have this in place by the standard’s release. With the addition of this standard we are looking to fully integrate and harmonise our management systems (health, safety, quality and environment) into a single easy to use and easy to understand total management system denoted PIMS (PTC Integrated Management System).
We are currently working towards BIM Level 2, and have recently begun investing in the future of construction, through education of our staff and an upgrade in our computing operations. Our aim is to be BIM Level 2 compliant within the next 5 years.
