Southampton City Council, Decent Neighbourhoods: Townhill Park Opening

At PT Contractors we pride ourselves on being active in the community, whether locally in Southampton where we are based or locally to our project sites. We aim to get involved with communities and their neighborhoods and develop good relationships with residents surrounding our sites.

Community Integration

On completion of the Shirley environmental improvements we had a residents event morning where the community came together to populate planters we installed and celebrate the completion of our works.

Apprenticeship/Work Experience

We actively recruit for apprentices in our local area offering training schemes and education to young persons looking for a career in construction. We took on two young people for work experience with us from the Prince’s Trust as part of the Southampton City Council’s Decent Neighbourhood Scheme who went on to become apprentices at the CITB National Construction College in Bircham Newton, Norfolk.

PTC are now an employer partner of CETC (Civil Engineering Training Centre) which delivers high quality civil engineering apprenticeships. See more on our Careers & Apprenticeships Page

End of Project Celebrations

We regularly provide celebrations including BBQ’s and event days upon completion of our projects. At Thornhill we provided a BBQ and games for the local residents in the community who benefited from the improvement works we completed. The residents of Townhill Park enjoyed a community engagement event post completion of the neighbourhood improvement works.

Charity Events

At PT Contractors we regularly get involved with charity events for our local charities Naomi House and Jacks Place. and Flutterby Fund. We raise money throughout the year for these two incredible charities.
