OPEN POSITIONS

GANGERS

With good all round experience of civil engineering projects, you will be reliable and trustworthy with the ability to oversee a team on a day-to-day basis, compilation of Daily Records, able to work under your own initiative and have experience with utilities, drainage, concrete and kerbing.

Personnel –

  • The effective communication of plans and requirements to the workforce teams using Toolbox Talks / Team Briefings etc.
  • Monitoring and reporting to Supervisor on employee competence.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • CSCS
  • CPCS
  • NPORS
  • First Aid Trained

Business –

  • As a member of the Site Team, ensuring that work is planned and carried out in accordance with Company management system, Policies (inc. Company Rules), Statutory and Contractual requirements.
  • Supporting the Site Manager in the effective planning, co-ordination and organisation of work.
  • Ensuring, in conjunction with the Site Manager, that adequate resources are available.
  • Keeping and maintaining required; safety, job, administrative and diary records.
  • Active participation in the development and implementation of improved working practices.
  • Liasing with the Client and implementing Client working practices / requirements in accordance with the Contract.
  • Ensuring that the standard of workmanship is maintained at the required level in
  • accordance with the Contract
  • Checking & inspection of materials, plant, workmanship and workplaces & recording results.

You will also have a sound understanding of all Health and Safety requirements relevant to this position. You may be expected to travel for some sites.

SKILLED SITE OPERATIVES

To work on projects in the South of England. Candidates will have good Building or Civil Engineering experience in a similar role within the industry and be able to apply their knowledge to specific tasks. A positive attitude to health and safety on site is essential.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Perform assigned tasks to agreed timescales.
  • Maintain plant and tools.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • CSCS Card
  • CPCS Card
  • NPORS Trained
  • Utilities, drainage, kerbing and concrete experience.
  • Full driving licence
  • Good practical skills
  • The ability to follow written and spoken instructions
  • Good team-working skills

Salary negotiable dependant on experience

Estimator

Background:

Generally but not exclusively of a professional / technical background. Will have extensive experience in pricing and estimating construction projects supported by an in depth knowledge of construction methods, practices and systems. Will have excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office programmes such as Excel, may be required to use tender pricing software packages.

Role:

The planning, organisation, co-ordination and processing of Enquiries received and Tenders / Estimates / Quotations submitted by the Company.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager responsible for Estimating, the Estimator shall be responsible for;

  • Carrying out duties in accordance with Company Management System, Policies (including Company Rules), Statutory and Client requirements.
  • Ensuring that Tenders are received, planned, processed and reviewed in accordance with the Company Management System.
  • Obtaining quotations for goods and sub-contractor services as required.
  • Ensuring site visits / pre-tender meetings are attended where appropriate prior to tendering.
  • Ensure adequate money is included to enable site to comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender documentation for the timely submission to the Client.
  • Maintaining records on pricing and submitted Tenders.
  • Supporting Contract teams in the provision of quotations, budget prices etc.
  • Upon award – the timely and accurate handover of tender information to Contract team.
  • Encourage the feedback of information from sites and Clients on methods / pricing / rates etc.
  • Liasing with Client representatives on the resolution of tender/pricing queries.
  • Active participation in the development and implementation of improved working practices.
  • Use project management software to produce tender programmes using Microsoft Project or Power Project software.
